Success…ion final events in Bulgaria and GreeceOct 2017

The EU funded project Success…ion – ‘Making family business transfers successful through training’ has come to its end. Two large-scale events took place in Bulgaria and Greece on the 17th and the 24th of October 2017 respectively, attracting local audiences of more than 200 attendants in Yambol, Bulgaria and Greece, Athens.

Approximately 40 online users and 38 workhop attendants in Bulgaria, greece and Spain had the opportunity to go through the platform in their own pace, starting from late June 2017.

Bozhidar Lukarski, the Minister of economy, invited an official delegation of the German Foundation for Family Business to visit Bulgaria and stated that our country “offers good conditions for business and investments and in the recent years has become a center of attraction for german enterprises”.
The delegation includes nearly 30 representatives of leading german family companies in various sectors such as textile industry, agriculture, real estate development, corporate investment, production of industrial minerals, electrical engineering, food processing, shipping, chemical industry.

Familienunternehmen und ihre Rolle in der Integration von FlüchtlingenJun 2016

Für die Integration der Flüchtlinge in Deutschland ist Arbeit essentiell und im Licht von Fachkräftemangel und steigenden Durchschnittsalter der Bevölkerung ist der Zustrom von jungen Arbeitnehmern eine große Chance.
Laut einer Befragung von 651 Familienunternehmen in Deutschland beschäftigt etwa jedes zehnte Familienunternehmen derzeit Flüchtlinge. Davon sind zwei Prozent in Minijobs und 7,2 Prozent als Zeitarbeiter tätig, die übrigen sind als Praktikanten und Auszubildende beschäftigt. Laut Lutz Goebel, Präsident des Verbandes „Die Familienunternehmer“, sind für viele Familienunternehmen unzureichende Sprachkenntnisse und der häufig ungeklärte Aufenthaltsstatus große Hindernisse für die Beschäftigung von Flüchtlingen. Der Verband „Die Familienunternehmen“ schlägt zur Lösung dieser Probleme ein Paket aus Anreizen sowohl für Flüchtlinge zur frühen Eigenqualifikation als auch für Arbeitgeber zur Einstellung von Flüchtlingen vor: . Die schnelle Umsetzung solcher oder ähnlicher Programme sollte nun im Fokus der Politik stehen.

This is clearly reflected in the Report of the European Parliament of July 2015, providing a wide array of suggestions for relevant actions and measures to be taken by the European Commission. You can read the Report on family businesses here. It is available in 23 languages, and you can also download the whole report in pdf format for each language. The Success…ion project fits well into these suggestions, especially concerning one of the major challenges family businesses are facing, which is the issue of succession and transfer.
